Fundraising and Volunteer Engagement
Arizona Trail Association
The Arizona Trail Association protects and maintains the Arizona National Scenic Trail, and 800-mile non-motorized path that traverses the state of Arizona. The ATA approached WaterGrass with the hope of combining their three databases into a single system that could handle it all. With WaterGrass, the ATA is able to track engagement with their donors, members and volunteer time and events. The ATA utilized the WaterGrass webinars to hit their end-of-the-year fundraising goals and can now pull their volunteer time for grant reports seamlessly.
Managing Volunteers
Billion Oyster Project
The Billion Oyster Project cleans up New York Harbor by restoring oyster reefs through public education. It manages thousands of volunteers every year - using WaterGrass to ease the load of gathering waivers and tracking participants. Long-term volunteers serve as Ambassadors, and corporations organize volunteer days - also through WaterGrass. Volunteer coordinator Kathryn Robling, who uses customized WaterGrass online signup forms and waivers to handle dozens of volunteer days each year, says, "Watergrass has been a crucial tool in growing our volunteer program. It saves valuable time and resources while helping us easily track volunteer metrics, see overlap of our constituents' involvement within our programs and build deeper relationships with our supporters. Nurturing New Leaders
Missouri River Relief
Missouri River Relief brought a barge upriver in 2001 to hold the first massive Missouri clean-up. Since then, 26,000+ volunteers have cleaned 920 tons of trash from 1,200 miles of the river. Promising volunteers are tapped for the River Relief "Crew," an indispensable part of the planning and carrying out of every clean-up. River Relief tracks everything from in-kind donations from trash haulers to event signups - all in WaterGrass.
Operations Manager Kevin Tosie recently tried out our latest tool for quickly registering volunteer hours, and wrote, "I recently got to use the new Process Participant List and I really enjoyed it. I especially like how easy it is to add new contacts in the same webpage."
